Quality 1st is a home grown, full service Independent Insurance agency. Quality 1st started back in 1999 when Matt Robbins purchased his father's (Gordon Robbins) Allstate agency. Gordon had been an Allstate agent for over  years and Matt had been hired by Allstate and was building his business over the past 4 years with a location in Smithfield and Logan. Matt purchased his fathers agency ad immediately began to grow the agency internally and externally. Over the next year, Matt merged his 4 year agency, his fathers 30 year agency and purchased Chuck Wieners 28 year old agency to make this the largest book of Allstate business in Utah and one of the largest Allstate books of business in the country.

    In seeing the need to provide valuable service, and Allstate's focuse on buying specific personal lines insurance, Allstate and the Robbins agency could not cover all their clients Insurance needs.

    Gordon partnered with Scott Maughn to start Quality 1st as to provide valuable service to contractors, restaurants, and workers compensation to customers that Allstate and many other direct writers could not.

    In January of 2008, after 14 years as an Allstate Agent Matt Robbins sold his agency and went tot work for the Buckner Company out of Salt Lake City. While at Buckner, Matt focused on large commercial cases as well as employee benefits.

    In June 2008, 5 short months of being with the Buckner company, Gordon felt it was time to retire from the Insurance business. Quality 1st was then purchased by Matt Robbins. Even though Matt no longer worked for the Buckner company, the relationships and contacts remained in place and the benifits and resources through the Buckner Company remain today, and are available through Quality 1st.
